Most workplaces in Saskatchewan are provincially regulated. The legislation that deals with occupational health and safety in these workplaces is as follows: the Saskatchewan Employment Act (the Act); and the Occupational Health and Safety Regulations, 1996; The Mines Regulations, 2003; and The Radiation Health and Safety Regulations, 2005. View Saskatchewan OHS Regulations HERE.

In Saskatchewan Canada, employers in moderate to high hazard workplaces with 5 to 9 workers are required by The Occupational Health and Safety Act, 1993 to establish and maintain an occupational health and safety program in accordance with The Occupational Health and Safety Regulations, 1996. Section 13 of the Act also requires employers at prescribed places of employment with ten or more workers to establish and maintain an occupational health and safety program that meets the requirement of regulation 22. Regulation 22 prescribes the required elements of an occupational health and safety program for employers in the prescribed industries with 10 or more workers.
